Arai Profile Model Now in XXXL Size
(Daytona, FL) — For all of you riders with an excessive amount of brain capacity, Arai has introduced the Profile model in size XXXL.
The new size is initially limited to two solid colors, Black and White. But there are plans to expand the range of colors in the future, although the other solid colors can now be special-ordered. Those colors are Aluminum Gray, Aluminum Silver, Black Frost, Gray Frost, Silver Frost, Race Red, Sport Blue and Sport Yellow. You can see them all on the Profile page of the 2008 Helmet Line section.
The Profile is now one of three Arai helmets to come in XXXL; the others are the Classic/m and SZ/m open-face models.
Suggested retail for the new Profile XXXL-size in Pearl Black or White is $558.95.
The Profile model uses Arai’s Long Oval (LO) shell shape, one of the company’s three different shell shapes designed to provide a better fit than is possible with helmets that come in just one shell shape. The Long Oval shape is for heads that are longer front to back and narrower side-to-side.
Arai feels that one major reason for our helmets’ legendary reputation for exceptional comfort and fit is our belief that the shape of a rider’s head (the relationship between its length and width) is as important as the head’s size in getting the best helmet fit and comfort. In other words, two riders can have identical head sizes, but if one’s shape is long and narrow, and the other’s is round (the front-to-back and side-to-side dimensions are very close), both riders cannot get the best fit in the same helmet shape.
Paying such close attention to all-day rider comfort is why Arai is credited with introducing the concept of different shell shapes to the motorcycle industry.
